IObit Uninstaller 5.0.Beta 1.0 released, and we analyze the new features in it

by AshwinJune 26, 2015

After releasing the beta versions of Iobit Advanced System Care 8.3, and Iobit Driver Booster 3.0, the company has now launched the beta version of Iobit Uninstaller 5.0.

Iobit Uninstaller is a very useful tool, which scans for leftover files and registry items, after an application has been uninstalled. It will display the items after the scan is completed, allowing for manually looking through the results, thus avoiding a scenario where some essential files are deleted.

Additionally, it is also capable of removing Browser Toolbars and Extensions, and Windows Store Apps.

Iobit Uninstaller is available in two variants. It comes as a standalone application, and also as a part of Iobit Advanced System Care.

Even if you do not use the application to uninstall the app, you will still get a pop-up notification, which reminds you that leftover files have been found, and that you can clean them with Iobit Uninstaller.

Now let us take a look at what the new version has to offer:

Firstly the UI has been changed drastically. You can see the old one (Iobit Uninstaller 4.3) below.

And here is what the new one, Iobit Uninstaller 5.0, looks like.

The Installed apps are now listed on the Right Pane, while the left pane is home to the new Sidebar, where all the features can be accessed from. They are neatly divided into four categories: Programs, Toolbars & Plugins, Win Manager and Tools.

Programs remains the same as in the previous version and lets you remove apps, and view recently installed, large programs and infrequently used apps.

Toolbars & Plugins now supports the removal of Google Chrome, but only those that were installed from third-party sources, i.e., Chrome Web Store Extensions, will not be displayed here. It also supports other browsers like Firefox, and Internet Explorer. just like the previous version did.

Win Manager lets you manage various Windows related settings, while Tools offers some cleaning utilities.

There are four new tools in version 5: Cleanup, Windows Tools, Startup and Process

Cleanup lets you remove residual files like invalid shortcuts, and cache files from Windows patches.  You can also remove useless downloads, from your Downloads folder, this option is not enabled by default.

Windows Tools allows you access various system tools, which are available in the Operating System.

Startup lets you manage apps which are started during the booting process of Windows.

Process displays the running apps, and allows you to the End the related task.

Even the Iobit Uninstaller 5 icon have changed in the new version.

(Old icon v4.3 on the left, and the new one v5.0, is on the right).

Similar to Driver Booster 3.0, the UI and the icon of Iobit Uninstaller 5.0 is flatter compared to it’s predecessor.

The new version also has an enhanced “Powerful Scan” to remove remnant items, and has been optimized to make the installation process simpler and faster. Quick Uninstall now supports more programs, and the app also has better monitoring and removal of browser plugins, and injected software.

Iobit Uninstaller 5.0 even supports resuming an uninstall which was interrupted by a reboot.

Download Iobit Uninstaller 5.0 from Major Geeks, you can use it alongside the existing version in ASC. But you can only run one instance of the app.
