LastPass new interface will be made default for all users from August 1st

LastPass new interface will be made default for all users from August 1st. The company announced the move today, so what does it mean to you as a user?

Well, to be honest, it isn’t a big deal. If you have been using LastPass Password Manager for a while, you won’t notice a difference, literally. Technically this is not even new, since it has been around for a year or so. There’s a good chance that you have been using it ever since. The old interface, LastPass 3.0 will be retired on August 1st. That is what the old GUI looks like. It is quite dated, isn’t it?

LastPass 4.0 brings a new UI for the Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera extensions

LastPass has updated all of its browser extensions to version 4.0.

And the new version brings in a brand new UI.

This came as quite a shock to me, as I have been using the service for the past five or six years. And I sure am not the only one who was unsettled after hearing the news. Users across the world have begun questioning the future of LastPass.

But LastPass states in its announcement, that its service will continue to exist in both free and premium versions, even after the acquisition.

First of all, we (LogMeIn/LastPass) have no plans [...]

LastPass reveals a breach in security: Here is how to change your LastPass Master Password

Today morning, I woke up to an email from LastPass, an online password manager service.

I have been using it for a very long time, maybe more than 5 or 6 years, and use it for all of my online services.

The email reported that LastPass had detected a security breach, on its servers. However, passwords stored inside your LastPass vault, i.e your database is safe. Because, all passwords stored in the vault are encrypted, and cannot be of any use to hackers. So, you need not change those passwords.

However, LastPass says that it will notify all users to change their Master Password, but it also says you only need to change your master password if you get a [...]
