Vivaldi has released a new Snapshot build, called 1.0.344.34 as it moves closer to the second beta version.
Let’s call it the Beta 2 candidate release, because that is exactly what it is, according to the developers of the browser.

Vivaldi has released a new Snapshot version of its browser, which brings the version to 1.0.344.24.
The developers have hinted that this version, could be one of the last Snapshot candidates before the next Beta version is released.
The latest snapshot update focuses on fixing a plethora of bugs which have plagued the browser. These fixes include improvements for site compatibility, issues related to thumbnails, and non responsive tabs, especially those which didn’t update when discarded and ended up with a black screen. The tab muting problems on Windows and Linux should no longer happen, thanks to better placement of the speaker icon.

This doesn’t come as a surprise, as the developers released a “Beta Candidate” of the browser, a week ago.
The beta version was an end result of 50 snapshots and 4 Technical previews, the first of which was released in January 2015. In those 10 months of testing, the browser managed to gatrner over 2 million downloads.

The latest build is Snapshot 1.0.303.32, but the developers have termed it as a beta candidate.
Apparently it is still not a beta quality version, and still needs a bit of bug fixing and tweaking.
Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, the founder of Vivaldi, and the former co-founder of Opera, announced that the browser now has typed history support in the search box. It can be accessed by clicking the small drop-down arrow icon at the end of the box, and also by using the key combo, SHIFT + Down arrow key.
