Microsoft Answers support forums for Windows 7 and 8.1 have been discontinued officially. The Redmond company has made the announcement on its website, where the statement clearly states that the forums will no longer be supported by official staff.
You can still browse the forums, search for existing issues, etc. You can even create new posts, and the forums will still be moderated to ensure that the posts adhere to the rules. The fact that no official Microsoft Certified professional will answer your question or resolve your issue, is a bit unsettling. You now have to rely on volunteers, who may or may not be knowledgeable.

A few days ago, Microsoft began rolling a new update for Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers.
This is not actually a new update, but a rather important one. The reason behind this is that it is a Recommended Update, which will be installed on the computers, one which will force the Windows 10 upgrade.
Reports suggest that this is not because of the KB3035583 Windows Update which is the nagware which introduced the Upgrade Offer when the operating system was launched. Windows 7 and 8.1 users can download and install Internet Explorer 11 from Microsoft’s website.
Last week, we reported that Microsoft will roll out a Windows Update to ask users to [...]
While Windows 10 is making the headlines on most websites as a succesful OS, its predecessor will be in the spotlight soon, but for a totally different reason.
Windows 8 is reaching its End of Support Life on January 12th.
Softpedia broke the news earlier today, and quite frankly we were struck with disbelief. How could anyone not notice this? The answer is actually quite simple.
The operating system is dying, yet it isn’t a big issue. This is because there is a solution readily available for all users, in the form of Windows 8.1.
While Windows 8 and 8.1 are nowhere nearly as good as Windows 10, let alone Windows 7, Windows 8.1 does correct a [...]
